I am a certified career and technology teacher and have managed my own classroom where I taught grade 9-12 students about applied art & design, business & marketing, and web & technology.
Previous to becoming a Washington State certified educator (Career & Technical Education, or "CTE" from Eastern Washington University), I was a Design Project Manager in the Seattle area. I have consulted on design projects for Microsoft and PNI Media; provided marketing assistance for Nintendo; managed art production and created graphic design for Microsoft, Kodak, Costco, Walmart, Jim Pattison Group, Loblaws Companies, as well as for various charities; I have assisted researchers and event planners at WorkSafeBC.
I have done technical writing, copywriting and technical documentation for various disciplines ranging from galleries and museums to chemistry and technology for both hardware and software applications.
I earned a BFA from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus) in Visual Art and Theory and can speak to the limitations of various philosophies and approaches to design. My goal as an educator is to describe and cultivate an atmosphere to follow best practices for business and technology techniques, methodologies and ethics.
I am excited that I can help educate students on how to solve artistic, logistic and technical challenges by using Design Thinking and Design Operation strategies while providing a platform for students to add their personal faith into their decision making.
